Nobody expected it to happen and yet, it did. This time it happened in New Zealand, by means of a 6.3 magnitude earthquake that inflicted death to several lives and ruined the supposedly fine structures surrounding the place. Perhaps, we have to consider this a kind of spiritual awakening and that we have to be always ready for whatever may take place on the following day.

While nobody wants to wake up early in the morning and be welcomed with a terrifying situation one day, this can always happen and it does when you least expected it. Consider what happened recently in New Zealand yesterday morning, February 22, when people were about to start their day supposedly as usual but it was not. What's worst is that others were no longer able to wake up and ended up losing their breaths beneath the shattered buildings.

Evident of this possibility is the New Zealand tremor. The world was surprised upon the emergence of the news headlining unified contents, referring to a terrible calamity that strikes New Zealand, yesterday morning February 22nd -- a 6.3 magnitude earthquake that killed over 70 individuals at first and then later on, the death toll augmented to nearly 400 people already.

Yesterday's earthquake centered on Christchurch town, ruining a lot of infrastructures including the iconic and 106 year-old cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament situated at the heart of Christchurch and the 147 year-old Christchurch Cathedral. This then triggered the town mayor to declare a state of emergency right after the aftershock occurred.

Among the victims was an Australian ‘family man’ in Christchurch, who is confirmed dead by the authorities. This information is also supported by Prime Minister Julia Gillard.

Gillard said that the victim was a New Zealand-born long-term Australian resident who's found dead in the shattered Pyne Gould Guinness building. Because of this, the federal government is warning the public to prepare for more bad news to come out, anytime from now.

Because of what happened in NZ presently, many people suddenly realize that anything can happen anytime, that death is near and life is short. It conveys a message to every people on earth, telling us all to start gearing up for the worst on the next morning and so.

In short, the yesterday’s earthquake was not only shaking Zealandia but also awakened the entire world, reminding us people to prepare our souls prior to our deaths, expected or not. How you would do it depends on your choice, though. Our prayers to our fellows who died from the shocking tragedy that occurred in New Zealand, particularly in Christchurch and our deep condolences to the grieving families, too.
